Just yesterday, I fell asleep at 3 am and woke up at 1 pm. It’s sh*tty, but not as bad as it used to be. My journey to live in a normal way looks better. I think that I have ADHD; usually, people are tested for this disorder when they are children. It’s more difficult to really tell, when you are a grown-up, whether you really have this problem.

Eating disorder

Well… It seems that my problems don’t stop with sleeping. When I’m not sleeping well or haven’t slept enough, I don’t eat. I just don’t, and that’s it. Forcing myself to write music on those days, or practicing the piano, is a huge challenge.

Writing music when you are burning 250–300 kcal during one hour of work, on an empty stomach, is a really bad idea. Yeah… It seems that after 4 hours I can burn as many kcal as after a heavy lifting session. Weird.

You are probably familiar with the idea of intermittent fasting. If not, it is a theory that if you eat in an 8-hour window, your body should function better and even heal itself. In this way, you can even allegedly burn fat faster, and it works great for inflammation.

Thanks to my lack of hunger till 3 pm, I’m pretty sure that after cutting the sugar out of my diet, I won’t have a problem with eating in an 8-hour window. So it would be very beneficial, but… yeah, sugar, right? That is the biggest problem — I just crave it too much.

Lack of training

Recently, I have had a problem with training. I don’t train at all, actually. Mostly because I’m lazy and not eating enough, which might be counterproductive. I’m in a total mess. I can’t say what should change first, but I’ll start by selling my old PS3 console, which I’ve been using recently.

I can’t really tell why I have such a problem making that decision — probably a lack of time — but I feel amazing after a training session. Especially ab training, which is weird; maybe I just have a gut problem that I’m not aware of. Can ab muscles really make such a difference in how my gut is working? I really feel amazing after a short sit-up routine.

I can walk for a whole day, but stretching, squats, and sit-ups are not my thing. Maybe for others it works, but not for me.

My memory sucks…

I just don’t remember minor things like washing my clothes, doing the dishes, cooking, and groceries. Nothing really is working as it should — it just isn’t. I’m tired mentally and really irritated by everything. Sleep deprivation is just killing me.

Brain fog is present as well. How could it not be? Focus issues, and different problems with learning new stuff. I could list even more, really!

What am I going to do?

I start my journey today to do something about it, and the first step will be solving my sleep problems. Fighting this with maybe some meds for sleeping? Oh, no — that’s my laziness speaking. I should first use natural remedies, like getting up earlier and going to sleep at a normal hour.

But who needs this, right? Apparently, someone who has problems with getting his sh*t together, because he doesn’t have to. I’m working from home, so in theory I don’t need to have a schedule. Until I do… because a messy lifestyle is ruining my focus during work hours.

So it’s settled — working on my sleeping, and selling my PS3 (yeah, I know, this console is retro already).

As in this lame joke about a woman who came to a doctor and said: – Doctor, it’s not good, but it’s better. – Miss, that is good, but it would be better if it were good.
